Cookie Policy

Effective Date: August 16, 2026

Most of erik-fuhrer.com sets no cookies at all. Two pages are the exception: the Survival Kit Writing Collective membership page and the free email course page. Those two pages run the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel. Everywhere else on the Site, no cookies are set by us and your browsing is not recorded by analytics tools.

The Meta Pixel

We advertise the Survival Kit Writing Collective on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta pixel lets us see whether those ads actually bring people to the membership page, so that we are not spending money blindly. It is on those two pages only.

On those pages, the pixel sets cookies in your browser and sends Meta information including the page you visited, your IP address, your browser and device details, and whether you clicked through to sign up. Meta may connect this to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and may use it to show you our ads later. Meta's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.

We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking technology on the Site.

How to Opt Out

You can block the pixel in several ways, and none of them affect your ability to use the Site or join the collective:

If you would rather join without visiting those pages at all, email erik@survivalkitwritingcollective.com and we will send you a direct link.

Third-Party Forms

If you sign up for our email list or free email course, the signup form is provided by Kit (kit.com), our email service provider. Kit may set technical cookies on its own form pages as part of normal operation. Kit's use of cookies is governed by their privacy and cookie policies, available at kit.com/privacy.

External Links

When you click an external link from this Site (for example, to join the Survival Kit Writing Collective on Circle, or to view a book on a retailer's website), you leave our Site and the cookie policies of the destination website apply.

Hosting

The Site is hosted by Netlify, which collects standard server-side log data (such as IP addresses and request information) for security and performance purposes. This is not done via browser cookies. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.

Changes

If we add cookies in the future (for example, if we ever add privacy-friendly analytics), we will update this policy and disclose what is collected and why. Material changes will be communicated to email subscribers.
